The 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit is days away, and over the past few months, the predictions for the top pick have remained fairly the same.

The Chicago Bears, who hold the first overall pick, will likely select USC quarterback Caleb Williams. However, this leaves a lot of talent available to be picked up in the first round.

There is uncertainty around who will be selected as the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft, but a quarterback is expected to be chosen. Possible candidates include Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels, North Carolina's Drake Maye, and Michigan's J.J. McCarthy. All three players can hear their names called early during the draft.

McCarthy has a 92% chance of being selected in the top 10 of the 2024 NFL draft, and he could land anywhere after the first pick. Here is McCarthy's current mock draft a few days before the draft.

J.J. McCarthy 2024 NFL draft predictions

Peter Schrager, NFL Network: New York Giants, No. 4 overall pick

Schrager writes: "New York moves up two spots -- tossing Arizona this year's third-round pick (No. 70 overall) and next year's second-rounder -- to land McCarthy. This is merely a mock draft, but I could see this deal coming to fruition. Joe Schoen didn't draft Daniel Jones, J.J. checks a lot of boxes, and Big Blue can get out of Jones' contract after this upcoming season. I assume that this projection could make headlines in New York. That's fine. I know the Giants have been going through all of the quarterback prospects diligently, as they should be."

Connor Rodgers, NBC Sports: Minnesota Vikings, No. 5 overall pick

Rodgers writes: "The Vikings are planning for something big, with the acquisition of Houston’s 23rd overall pick being step one. In this scenario they package that pick and their own (11th overall) to come up for a raw, but talented quarterback in McCarthy. It’s a really big risk, but it seems like one they are ready to take."

Nick Kosmider, The Athletic: Denver Broncos, No. 8 overall pick

Kosmider writes: "Trade: Broncos send No. 12, No. 76 (third round), No. 203 (sixth) and a 2025 second-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons for No. 8 and No. 109 (fourth)

McCarthy would give Payton a young quarterback to jumpstart an offensive restructuring as the team begins life without Russell Wilson. The Broncos want to build a stronger and more consistent rushing offense and layer play-action concepts around it. That system would allow McCarthy to play and develop in Year 1. There are legitimate questions about how ready he’ll be given the relatively limited playing time he had at Michigan, but his third-down numbers illustrate a quarterback who was entirely capable of making plays when the ball was in his hands — what Payton calls the high-dive moments."

Jordan Dajani, CBS Sports: Las Vegas Raiders, No. 10 overall pick

Dajani writes: "J.J. McCarthy finally is claimed at No. 10 overall by the Raiders, who jump the Vikings and Broncos for their new QB. The national champion went 27-1 for Michigan as the starter, which is good enough for third-best by an FBS quarterback all-time."
