2024 high school softball Fort Worth All-Area Team. Who are the best local players?
The Star-Telegram is announcing Fort Worth All-Area teams for high school soccer, baseball and softball throughout the week.
The 2024 girls high school soccer All-Area Team was released on Wednesday, and the 2024 boys high school soccer All-Area Team was released on Thursday. Now, we’re releasing the 2024 high school softball All-Area Team.
Individual Awards
Player of the Year: Bailey Lindemuth, Senior P/SS, Burleson Centennial
Lindemuth, the District 8-5A MVP, powered the Spartans to the regional finals and a District 8-5A championship. As a pitcher, she was one of the best in the area with a 1.53 ERA, 15 wins and 163 strikeouts.
As a batter, she recorded a stellar .548 batting average, 63 hits, 17 home runs, 66 RBIs, 55 runs and 16 stolen bases. She was named to the TGCA All-State team.
Newcomer of the Year: Abby Atkinson, Freshman pitcher, Boyd
Atkinson, the District 10-3A pitcher of the year, had ridiculous numbers in her debut season. In 114 innings pitched, she had a 0.794 ERA and gave up 17 hits all season. She struck out 269 batters, and opponents had an abysmal .047 batting average against her.
As a hitter, she had a .370 batting average and drove in 36 runs.
Co-Offensive Player of the Year: Kaymie Chandler, Senior utility, Weatherford
Chandler, an Arkansas Rich Mountain signee, earned District 3-6A MVP honors with a .495 batting average, 12 home runs and 50 RBIs. She tallied 48 hits, 28 runs and had a .566 on-base percentage.
Co-Offensive Player of the Year: Izabell Astran, Senior utility, Arlington Martin High School
Astran was a staple in the Warriors’ lineup with a .423 batting average and 16 home runs, which is an Arlington Martin record. She drove in 57 RBIs and was also named the Defensive Player of the Year for District 8-6A.
Coach of the Year: Chad Cribbs, Keller
Cribbs coached a Keller squad to the regional finals, where it nearly eliminated Denton Guyer. The Indians secured a District 4-6A championship with a perfect 12-0 record and two wins over runner up Southlake Carroll.
ALL-AREA TEAM
Madi Doty, Sophomore pitcher, Grandview
Doty powered the Zebras to the Class 3A state championship game with elite, all around play. As a pitcher, she collected 25 wins and only two losses. As a batter, she tallied an elite .581 batting average.
Brenlee Gonzales, Senior pitcher/utility, Aledo
Gonzales was a force for the Bearcats throughout the season, powering the team to the state tournament with consistent, elite pitching and a 439 batting average. She was named to the All-State Team and will continue her career at Texas Tech.
Harley Malone, Sophomore pitcher, Boswell
Malone was named the District 3-6A Pitcher of the Year. In 109 innings, she tallied a 16-3 record and posted a 2.433 ERA.
Sadie Beck, Senior pitcher, Keller
Beck, the District 4-6A MVP and a Tarleton State commit, shouldered the pitching duties for the Indians and powered her team to the regional finals with several elite performances. She had a 1.96 ERA, 24 wins and 266 strikeouts. She also hit .407 and tallied 31 RBIs, 48 hits and three home runs.
Haley Mennega, Sophomore catcher, Birdville
Mennega, an All-State selection, was named the District 7-5A Catcher of the Year and MVP. She had a .477 batting average, a .536 on-base percentage and a .989 fielding percentage in her sophomore campaign.
Madelyn Hickey, Junior catcher, Burleson Centennial
Hickey, an All-State and TGCA All-Star member, was a staple in the Spartan offense, posting a .425 batting average, seven home runs and 43 RBIs. He defense was excellent with only two errors all season.
Kylie Grafa, Junior catcher, Grandview
Grafa posted a .479 batting average and was a staple in an elite lineup that made the state championship game.
Lillie Hope Gaudio, Freshman catcher, Mansfield Legacy
Gaudio had a stellar debut seasons with the Broncos with a .465 batting average and 14 home runs.
Kaiya Fabela, Junior catcher, Keller
Fabela, a BYU commit, was arguably Keller’s best offensive player with a .424 average and eight home runs. She drove in 32 RBIs and was named the District 4-6A Catcher of the Year.
Scarlett Poore, Junior pitcher/INF, Mansfield Lake Ridge
Poore was a versatile force with a 1.961 ERA and 65 strikeouts. As a hitter, she had a .432 average, 10 home runs and 49 RBIs.
Coryn Burris, Junior INF, Birdville
Burris, an All-State selection, was also named to the All-District 7-5A first team. She posted a phenomenal .505 batting average and showcased some power, tallying 12 home runs and 46 RBIs. She also had a .973 fielding percentage.
Kassidy Chance, Senior INF, Mansfield Lake Ridge
Chance, a McNeese commit, has a knack for getting on-base with a .583 average and a .647 on-base percentage. She drove in 32 runs and scored 45 times.
Scarlett Kuhn, Junior INF, Southlake Carroll
Kuhn, an All-State selection, posted an absurd .422 batting average and 12 home runs for Southlake Carroll. She’ll continue her career with Minnesota.
Karlie Landrum, Senior INF, Brewer
Landrum brought the star power to the Bears’ lineup with a .425 average and 16 home runs.
Sydney Mann, Sophomore OF, Grandview
Mann was a key contributor in Grandview’s state tournament run in her second season, posting an elite .441 batting average.
Addie Perry, Junior OF, Aledo
Perry set the tone for Aledo, a team that made the state tournament. As a lead off hitter, she posted a .382 batting average.
Abby Wiley, Sophomore OF, Peaster
Wiley was an offensive machine in District 8-3A, posting an absurd .667 batting average. She was consistent on the defensive end, earning the District 8-3A Defensive Player of the Year award.
Madison Haynes, Junior OF/Utility, Burleson Centennial
Haynes was named the District 8-5A Utility Player of the Year and is a TGCA All-Star Team member. She posted a .421 average with 51 hits, seven home runs and 29 RBIs.
Jordan Stewart, Senior utility, Southlake Carroll
Stewart was a force in the Dragons lineup with a .425 batting average and 42 RBIs.
Gisele Rayngay, Junior utility, Grapevine
Rayngay hit three home runs in one game en route to posting a .433 batting average and 36 RBIs. She was named the District 7-5A MVP.e
Ava Ellis, Freshman DH, Burleson Centennial
Ellis put together a great debut season, earning District 8-5A Newcomer of the Year honors. She posted a .432 batting average, 15 hits, eight home runs and 43 RBIs. She also pitched and had a 3.03 ERA with 46 strikeouts.
