2 Arsenal players make Team of the Week for Southampton displays
Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz are worthy entrants in various Teams of the Week following their performances against Southampton on Saturday.
Following the last round of Premier League fixtures before the October international break, Arsenal have a couple of players in the BBC and WhoScored Teams of the Week.
Troy Deeney included Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz in his BBC Team of the Week, writing of Saka that the winger’s two assists and a goal felt like a “normal weekend”.
Deeney praised “another excellent performance” from the winger and suggested the player “looked a class above”.
As for Havertz, Deeney highlighted the forward’s seventh goal in seven games at the Emirates Stadium, adding that he’s “growing in confidence, looks comfortable and it looks like Arsenal have a top player on their hands”.
The same two players also featured in WhoScored’s team, with Sam Hammond pointing to Saka’s three goal contributions leading to his 9.41 rating and his Premier League Player of the Week status.
As for Havertz, Hammond highlighted the striker’s goal, key pass, two successful dribbles, and four aerial duel wins.
Sofascore also named Saka as their Player of the Week, including the winger and Havertz in their Team of the Week as well. It was evidently difficult for anyone to leave the duo out.
Heading into the international break, it’ll be a fortnight until the next Team of the Week update. Arsenal will face Bournemouth away from home in their first game back.
