A fresh insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona to reinforce the club’s frontline with a view to next season has on Saturday been forthcoming.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and points towards something of a shake-up as having recently taken place in the Camp Nou boardroom.

Nico Williams, as has long been reported, remains Barca’s clear-cut priority target.

The 2nd choice of Deco and co, meanwhile, until recently, was Liverpool star Luis Díaz.

Owing to his excellence at the European Championships, however, the understanding is that Dani Olmo has since leapfrogged Díaz in the Blaugrana’s pecking order.

The board in Catalunya’s capital, like all others, have been left thoroughly impressed by RB Leipzig star Olmo’s form en route to Spain booking their place in the finale of Euro 2024.

Should a move for Nico Williams fail to come to fruition, Barcelona’s plan is therefore to swiftly turn attentions towards the former La Masia talent.

Colombian international Díaz’s arrival, in turn, is beginning to look increasingly unlikely.
