14 touchdowns later, Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes throws his first interception

As you’ve read on this fine website (and maybe others, but we’d question your judgment), Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is off to a heck of a start in his first season as the team’s starter.

In his first four games, Mahomes threw 14 touchdowns, more than any other quarterback in the NFL.

And over that time, he hadn’t thrown a single interception. That streak ended Sunday. In the second quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mahomes got his first pick.

A pass over the middle intended for Tyreek Hill was too high and intercepted by Jaguars’ safety Tashaun Gipson.

It was the 160th pass attempt of the season for Mahomes. He would later throw a second interception, but finished with 313 yards passing as the Chiefs remained unbeaten with a convincing 30-14 victory over the Jaguars.

New Orleans’ Drew Brees is now the only starting quarterback without an interception yet this season.
