13 Active AHL Players Named To Team Canada's Spengler Cup Team

13 players who are currently in the AHL were named to Team Canada's roster for the 2024 Spengler Cup tournament.

The players are:

  • Brett Seney - (F) Rockford IceHogs

  • Charles Hudon - (F) Ontario Reign

  • Logan Shaw - (F) Toronto Marlies

  • Curtis McKenzie - (F) Texas Stars

  • Brandon Coe - (F) San Jose Barracuda

  • Layton Ahac - (D) Abbotsford Canucks

  • Noel Hoefenmayer - (D) Laval Rocket

  • Madison Bowey - (D) Cleveland Monsters

  • Jonathan Aspirot - (D) Calgary Wranglers

  • Colton White - (D) Utica Comets

  • Mac Hollowell - (D) Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

  • Dylan Ferguson - (G) - Iowa Wild

  • Colten Ellis - (G) Springfield Thunderbirds

The 96th Spengler Cup tournament runs from Dec. 26-31 in Davos, SUI., the other five teams are Kärpät Oulu, HC Fribourg-Gottéron, the Straubing Tigers, Dynamo Pardubice and hosts HC Davos.

Hudon leads this group of AHLers in goals and points with 10 and 18 in 22 games this season. Seney and Shaw both have 17 points.

Hollowell leads the defenders with 15 points, Ellis has appeared in eight games in net while Ferguson has played in five.

Canada last won the tournament in 2019. They are tied with HC Davos for the most Spengler Cup Championships with 16.
