(12-7-24) St. Louis Blues-Edmonton Oilers Gameday Lineup
First, Pavel Buchnevich. Now, Justin Faulk. Next, Nick Leddy.
The St. Louis Blues lineup is finally starting to take shape, barring any more injuries.
Faulk missed the past two games with an upper-body injury and will return today when the Blues (13-12-2) play the third of a four-game road trip against the Edmonton Oilers (14-10-2) at 9 p.m. (FDSNMW, ESPN 101.1-FM); he will replace Pierre-Olivier Joseph.
Buchnevich (lower-body injury) returned on Thursday and scored in a 4-3 overtime win against the Calgary Flames. Coupled with the recent returns from Robert Thomas and Philip Broberg, the only injured skater that remains is Leddy, who will miss his 24th straight game with a lower-body injury.
No other lineup changes are expected, including Jordan Binnington getting the start in goal.
---
Tonight marks the return of Broberg and Dylan Holloway since the defenseman and forward, respectively, each signed an offer sheet in the off-season to come to St. Louis.
Holloway said he expects the boos from fans but feels nothing but love for the city; however, he's glad to move on and get more playing time -- and development -- in St. Louis.
---
The Blues will also be facing a former teammate for the first time when when they go up against Kasperi Kapanen.
The Oilers claimed Kapanen off waivers from the Blues on Nov. 19; the forward has a goal and an assist in six games in Edmonton.
"It's going to be more fun than anything. Just try to beat these guys today."
