JaVale McGee wore a full Grinch costume to answer postgame questions
It’s always entertaining when athletes get in on the Halloween fun. But the Los Angeles Lakers’ JaVale McGee took it to a whole new level on Wednesday. He not only came to the game wearing a full, custom made Grinch costume, he donned the whole thing for his postgame media availability as well.
Here he is entering the arena. The fanny pack is how you know it’s not the real Grinch.

And after the game, which the Lakers won 114-113 over the Dallas Mavericks, McGee answered questions while wearing the Grinch costume. It starts with him wearing the body of the costume like it’s a green furry coat, and then LeBron James shouts from off-camera, “You’re supposed to talk through the mask!” So McGee puts on the mask and talks about his excellent 16-point, 15-rebound, five-block game.

It’s everything you could ever want in a postgame media session, whether it’s Halloween or not. When was the last time you witnessed someone talking serious basketball from the depths of an enormous Grinch mask? Probably never!
Someone get on the phone with the estate of Dr. Seuss. “How JaVale McGee Stole Halloween” is a million dollar idea!
