Former WNBA and University of Tennessee basketball star Chamique Holdsclaw has been arrested after what has been described as a violent domestic incident, according to Atlanta police.
The police had issued an arrest warrant for Holdsclaw after an incident involving Jennifer Lacy, who described herself as Holdsclaw's former girlfriend. An incident report obtained by Channel 2 Action News, a local Atlanta television station, indicated that Lacy told police she was working out when Holdsclaw approached her and said she wanted to put some items in Lacy's Range Rover.

Holdsclaw turned herself in on Thursday night, and was booked into the Fulton County jail on charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and reckless conduct. Bail was set at $10,000, but Holdsclaw was still in jail as of Friday morning.
It's a tough fall for Holdsclaw, who was a college basketball legend in the late 1990s. She led Tennessee to three national championships and was the No. 1 pick in the 1999 WNBA draft. She played 12 seasons in the WNBA, won an Olympic gold medal in 2000, and still holds the SEC scoring record. Lacy currently plays for the Tulsa Shock; both women played for the Dream in 2009.
"I want to thank my family, friends, fans and Shock family for their concern during this difficult time," Lacy said in a statement issued by the Shock. "I have never felt more love from my fans in supporting me."
