Kelly LeBrock, is that you? ‘Weird Science’ beauty gets mug shot
She may have been the perfect woman 28 years ago, but Kelly LeBrock appears to have fallen off her pedestal. The 53-year-old actress played a teen boy's fantasy come to life in 1985's "Weird Science," but now has reportedly been arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.
LeBrock's mug shot has been released in connection with a Nov. 30 arrest in Santa Barbara, Calif. The actress reportedly drove over the speed limit, ran a stop sign, and swerved. The photo shows the '80s sex symbol in a white fur coat, and still sporting her famous pout and wild mane.
According to TMZ, an officer noticed signs of alcohol impairment and gave LeBrock a field sobriety test, after which she was taken into custody, though no charges have been filed.
After moving to the U.S. from England in her midteens, LeBrock started out as a model but soon turned to acting after becoming wary of the drug scene prevalent in the fashion world.
"I didn't want to get hooked on heroin and die like some of my friends," LeBrock told the Daily Mail in August. "I decided to change my lifestyle and quit modeling and go to the next obvious thing, movies."
In 1984, she met and married film producer Victor Drai, who helped her land her breakout role in "The Woman in Red," in which she played Gene Wilder's fantasy. A year later, she shot to fame as the Barbie doll come to life in John Hughes's 1985 teen sci-fi romp "Weird Science."
But LeBrock's career then seemed to take a back seat to her family life.
She met action star Steven Seagal in the late '80s and they went on to marry and have three kids together (they also co-starred in "Hard to Kill" in 1990). After her divorce from the actor in 1996, LeBrock, who has only appeared in 12 films since starting out, said she "became a hermit."
"I moved my kids out of L.A. so they could grow up with real people — the kids of gas pump attendants, plumbers, and real family people," she told the Mail. "I decided to swap my old life in Beverly Hills for a new one in the country, in Santa Barbara."
These days LeBrock is reportedly attempting to get back into acting. She is set to star in "Hidden Affairs," about a young woman who stumbles upon an unsolved murder that took place in her home 80 years prior.
