Love -- Venus and Serena Williams are back and made quick work of their first opponents at the Italian Open.

15 -- U.S. Open champion Juan Martin del Potro underwent surgery Tuesday to repair an injured right wrist and is expected to miss significant time. He also dismissed the widespread rumors that his absence is related to depression, writing that while it's not a happy time in his life those rumors are "malicious and false." Whatever it is, here's hoping we see Delpo back on the tour soon. Things were more fun with him around.

30 -- The New York Times on Rafael Nadal's quest for a fifth French Open title.

40 -- Want to feel old? Anna Kournikova and Martina Hingis will be returning to Wimbledon this summer as part of the legend's doubles event. Even worse: It has been 13 years since Kournikova burst onto the tennis scene by making an unexpected run to the semifinals at the All England club.

Game -- In honor of Cinco de Mayo, let's remember the greatest tennis player in Mexican history, Rafael Osuna: In 1963 he became the first player from any Latin American country to win a Grand Slam when he took the U.S. Open crown at Forest Hills. He later became the first, and only, Mexican to hit No. 1 in the rankings. Osuna also led Mexico to its only Davis Cup final and partnered with USC teammate Dennis Ralston to become the first unseeded doubles pair to win Wimbledon. In 1969, Osuna died in a plane crash at the age of 30.
