Kanye West’s Yeezus Tour Postponed to Save ‘Creative Vision’

It's been a rough go for Kanye West this time around.

The self-proclaimed "creative genius" kicked off his first solo tour in five years in Seattle on Oct. 19 — and has postponed a whopping five concert dates since then. (That was only 13 days ago, people.)

The latest delay is the result of a car crash. While no one was reportedly hurt, the equipment didn't fare so well.

According to a statement released by Def Jam, "A truck carrying The Yeezus Tour’s custom-made video truss and 60-ft circular LED screen was in an accident that damaged the gear beyond repair." The screen in question was designed to mimic the moon and sky, display messages during the show, and provide zoom-ins on the star so people with nosebleed seats can see him.

Def Jam goes on to explain, "This gear is central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team at DONDA. As a result of this event, it is impossible to put on the show and The Yeezus Tour will be postponed until these essential pieces can be reengineered and refabricated."

What the statement doesn't mention, however, is any indication of how long that might take. In other words, it could be a while.

"Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans," the statement emphasizes before noting, "The Vancouver, Denver and Minneapolis dates have been postponed."

Hmm... His Vancouver fans can't be feeling too good about that since West's concert there was already postponed once at the very last minute, making this his second false start in the Canadian city.

Earlier this week (before his gear got totaled), Kanye cancelled his show in Anaheim, originally scheduled for November 1, and rebooked it for December 13. Combine all of this with the reports that he wants to plan a wedding and marry his baby mama, Kim Kardashian, ASAP, and we can't help but fear that the remaining tour dates might not happen at all.

"Yeezus," indeed.
