After getting a full night's sleep in the middle of their final Champions League group stage match, which was abandoned in the 32nd minute the day before, Galatasaray defeated Juventus to advance to the knockout stage of the Champions League. An 85th-minute goal from Wesley Sneijder proved to be the difference in the disjointed match played on a sloshy pitch.
Since the two sides picked up where they left off the day before, halftime came just 13 minutes after they resumed play. Galatasaray ended up making the most of the conditions though, and Sneijder celebrated his goal with Didier Drogba in a pile of muddy snow as a result.
Juventus only a needed a draw to advance, but now they return home with only domestic competitions and the Europa League to look forward to. Galatasaray, meanwhile, seem rather focused...
