Union Comercio’s Juan Flores arrested for biting a man’s ear, might be unluckiest keeper in the world

Joe Hart may feel as if he's having a rough time lately, but the Manchester City shot stopper has absolutely nothing on Unión Comercio's Juan Flores.

When the 2013 Peruvian Primera División first stage kicked off in february, DT showed you an unfortunate incident in a match with Universidad César Vallejo. Flores passed out form heat exhaustion, only for an opportunistic striker to collect the loose ball and score. "Football is for the living," said the opponent, who probably shouldn't ever give out bad news at hospitals.

That incident was merely a precursor for three terrible blunders in three consecutive matches in August. Firstly, in a 2-0 loss at Sporting Cristal, Flores' attempt at time wasting didn't quite go to plan...

The following week, Unión Comercio hosted high-flying Universitario, and Flores could do nothing when defender Renzo Reaños put a comical own goal past him...

The triumvirate of fail was completed two Sundays ago during a visit to León de Huánuco, when yet another own goal was put past the hapless keeper, this time a rocket from defender Joaquin Lencinas...

Club Unión now sit bottom of their group in the second stage of the Torneo Descentralizado, knowing that relegation is a distinct possibility when the league concludes in December. Manager Edgar Ospina is baffled by the unlucky streak of slapstick blunders, telling the El Comercio newspaper (via Reuters):

Unbelievably, it gets worse for Flores, as he was handed a three-year suspended prison on Tuesday.

According to Peru.com, the 37-year-old was charged with assault after biting a man's ear in a nightclub in Huanuco. Flores was also forced to pay 10,000 Peruvian Nuevo Sol (around $3,550) in damages to his victim.

So, if 2013 has been unkind to you in any professional or legal manner, spare a thought for Juan Flores, who seems to have spent the year in a thunderstorm of poop with no umbrella.
