Ukrainian ultras throw flares and seats on the field while away team attacks their goal

Newly promoted Ukrainian Premier League side Sevastopol faced Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on Saturday night, but the ultras behind the goal were not the most welcoming of hosts.

As Dnipro attacked in the 55th minute, the rowdy fans orchestrated a mass shower of flares and seats, all of which somehow managed to avoid seriously injuring the players. The supporters weren't trying to help their own defense by making it difficult for Dnipro to score, but were protesting against their own club director Viktor Moskvitina.

Sevastopol's previous game was a trip north to Metalurh Zaporizhya, but ultras were made to travel separately from regular fans, who had buses laid on by the club. Despite assurances that they would be able to enter the stadium when they arrived, Moskvitina allegedly instructed police not to let the ultras in.

The referee was forced to stop play for 10 minutes, while a number of Sevastopol players went over to try and reason with the riotous supporters. According to Ukrainian outlet ProSport, the stadium announcer also warned fans that the game would be classed as a forfeit if they kept making it rain debris.

After the players were brought back onto the field, there was no further trouble and the game finished 1-1. Sevastopol ultras, meanwhile, weren't left with as many seating options for their next home game...
