Referee gets sandwiched during Wigan-Fulham, jokingly shows red card

Early in Wigan's match against Fulham on Saturday, referee Lee Probert was caught in the wrong spot and accidentally hacked down by the lunging attempts to reach the ball from Fulham's Steve Sidwell and Wigan's Ben Watson. As Probert received treatment from the physios, he kept his sense of humor about the incident despite being in a bit of pain and showed Wigan captain Gary Caldwell a red card while lying on his back (video here).

Probert would continue on while Caldwell wondered if he should continue the joke by filing a pretend appeal after the match or to just serve a pretend ban and pay a pretend fine.
