Harry Redknapp thinks a lot of his players are making too much money for what they do

After finally getting their first win of the season last week, QPR were brought back down into the depths of their harsh reality when Shoala Ameobi scored in the 81st minute to give Newcastle a 1-0 win in the battle of teams who didn't have a Christmas party. This latest defeat prompted QPR manager Harry Redknapp to give his players the gift of the honest truth.

Referencing the fact that owner Tony Fernandes proved that buying success isn't as easy as too many seem to think when he threw ridiculous amounts of money at a cornucopia of past their prime footballers, Redknapp aired his grievances. From the BBC:

"There are a lot of players at this club who earn far too much money," he said. "Far too much for their ability and what they give to the club.

"I don't really want to see the owners have their pants taken down like they have in the past." [...]

"A lot of agents made money out of them [the club's owners]," Redknapp said.

"I fined a player last week and he was earning more than any player earned at Tottenham. You shouldn't be paying massive wages when you've got a stadium that holds 18,000 people.

"Newcastle holds 52,000 and most of their players will be nowhere near some of the wages some of the players are earning here."

The player Redknapp fined last week was Jose Bosingwa, who had a tantrum after being left out of the win against Fulham. Bosingwa was fined two weeks' wages, which totaled a whopping £100,000. The 30-year-old defender signed a three-year deal with QPR after his Chelsea contract expired over the summer.

Anyway, it's only December. This is likely just the beginning for Harry Redknapp: Speaker of Truths.
