Australian skicross racer Anton 'The Beard' Grimus will shave for charity

Australian skicross racer Anton Grimus is known as “The Beard.”

His bushy facial hair has become his signature look and the stuff of legend.

Fans who watched him race – and ultimately crash – during Thursday’s skicross event held up signs that read: “Fear The Beard.”

But on Saturday, the beard will be no more.

Grimus said he is shaving his soup-saver to raise money for the Rob Kneller Youth Foundation.

Grimus hasn’t shaved in more than two years.

The foundation, which is named after the late father of teammate Scott Kneller, supports young skiers in the Australian ski town of Jindabyne. Rob Kneller died in an industrial accident earlier this year.

According to the Olympic News Service, Grimus has already raised more than $9,000 for his unbearding.

Jimmy Fallon, host of the Tonight Show, had already taken notice of Grimus and dubbed him the Olympian "Most Likely To Be Justin Bieber in Disguise."
