American Bobsledder Johnny Quinn needed some help with his Russian literary history

Johnny Quinn wants you all to know he’s an Olympic athlete, not a historian.

So when Russia tried to get all History 101 on him during the closing ceremony on Sunday, he took to Twitter to ask for help.

Don’t worry Johnny, we’re here for you.

Russia was boasting the exploits of its greatest authors, including (in no particular order) Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Pushkin, Nabokov, and Chekhov among others. They wrote books such as War and Peace, Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment, Lolita, and many others.

Russia has been all about teaching things during its opening and closing ceremonies. Remember in the opening ceremony where we learned the Cyrillic Alphabet? Luckily, for Quinn, there won’t be a test on Russian authors later.

Even if Quinn was a little shamed by his lack of Russian knowledge, he can take solace in the fact that he dominated Russian architecture.
