Watch Tobias Rieder score two short-handed goals for Coyotes in 58 seconds (Video)

Arizona Coyotes forward Tobias Rieder was a 2011 fourth-round pick by the Edmonton Oilers. He never played for them and was dealt south in 2013. He showed his former club what it was missing with a marvelous shift during a second-period penalty kill Monday night.

Down 1-0, the 22-year-old rookie single-handedly turned the game by scoring not once ...

... but twice in 58 seconds while short-handed:

As Fox Sports Arizona's Craig Morgan pointed out, those were Arizona’s first short-handed goals of the season. And according to the Coyotes, Rieder is the first rookie and second player in franchise history to record two shorties in a single game.

To pile on, Oliver Ekman-Larsson would light the lamp just over three minutes later to extend the lead to 3-1, and Phoenix would go on to win 5-2, furthering Edmonton's season of misery. The Oilers have lost 10 straight games (0-7-3) and 14 of their past 16 (2-11-3) – and remain winless in 15 games versus the Western Conference this season (0-12-3).
