Watch Drew Doughty’s end to end goal on Devils in Game 2 (VIDEO)

Drew Doughty may have been the largest reason the Devils couldn't establish any sort of forecheck in Game 1. Dumping the puck into his corner was a little like starting the Kings' breakout; the Devils couldn't touch him.

Unfortunately for Doughty, he didn't score, so he was completely overshadowed by Anze Kopitar. He wasn't even named one of the game's stars. Safe to say people will probably be talking about him after Game 2, and not just because he scored a goal. He scored a beauty:

He seems happy.

What a skater. As if it wasn't already clear that Doughy can fly when he beats Clarkson to the puck in his own zone, he turns the it back up ice in a hurry. And once he gets to full speed -- wow. It's like he's skating on one of those moving walkways at the airport.

Doughty walks right through the neutral zone, steps around Ryan Carter at the blueline, then puts a laser past Martin Brodeur low to the stick side.

Devils fans might have mixed feelings about the goal.

Nobody likes to see their team go down early, but it had to remind them of a goal they're much fonder of. Doughty's rush bore an eerie resemblance to Scott Neidermayer's goal in Game 2 of the 1995 Stanley Cup Final.

Doughty may not remember it. He was 5 years old. But I digress.

When you're drawing comparisons to Scott Niedermayer, you're doing a lot of things right, and Doughty did a lot right to open the scoring in Game 2.
