Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos favorited a Tweet by TSN of a video asking if the Maple Leafs should pursue the star center.

Photo evidence of the like is above. Stamkos has since unliked the Tweet. It was his only like on his Twitter page. The video itself was posted online Tuesday. Stamkos is a pending unrestricted free agent and has yet to re-sign with the Lightning, furthering questions on whether the former 60-goal man is waiting on a mega offer from the Maple Leafs in the offseason. Stamkos is from nearby Markham, Ontario.

Stamkos is no stranger to creating firestorms with liking/favoriting Tweets. During the summer of 2014 he favorited a Tweet of a story from The Hockey News wondering if any young NHL superstar would be like the NBA’s LeBron James and return to his hometown team. That same summer he also favorited a tweet asking him and John Tavares to join the Leafs.

Stamkos addressed that issue a few months later per the Tampa Tribune:

“You talk about having a pocket dial, that was a pocket favorite of a tweet,’’ Stamkos said Thursday at the Ice Sports Forum, where informal workouts are taking place in advance of the Sept. 18 start of training camp. “...You press the favorite button by accident and an hour later Twitter blew up. But you live and learn and I’ll be more careful on the favorite button the next time around.”

The Lightning play at the Maple Leafs on Dec. 15 – their first visit to Toronto this year, where Stamkos will likely receive several questions about his contract status.

Stamkos talked to Puck Daddy a week ago about his contract and the various queries he’s received about not having a new deal.

“It comes with the territory obviously,” Stamkos said. “You know when you’re in this position you’re going to get asked about it a lot. For me it’s been easy. It’s been the same answer every time. I think with the relationship my agency and (general manager) Steve Yzerman have and how we’ve agreed to keep everything between us, there really hasn’t been much to talk about. “
