Ref Mike Leggo vomits on ice, delays Penguins vs. Lightning game (Video)

NHL referees throw up their hands a dozen times during a game. Alas, in the Pittsburgh Penguins' game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night, Mike Leggo simply threw up.

The game was delayed briefly in the first period when Leggo, an NHL ref since 1996-97, got sick in the Penguins' defensive zone. There was 7:37 left in the period, and Pittsburgh was already up 2-0. Leggo left the game and did not return.

So if you're reading this post, you're probably here to see a referee blow chunks on the ice.

WARNING - KINDA GROSS.

FINAL WARNING.

Without further ado:

Did we spy Brandon Sutter trying to hold back a laugh?

Via Deadspin, here's a GIF of the first spewage:

Well, good thing no one noticed:

Hopefully Leggo is OK or had an amazing time out last night or both.

Seriously, he should be tossing players off the ice not ... well, you know.
