Puck Daddy chats with Kevin Connolly of 'Entourage' about picking with the New York Islanders at NHL Draft
LOS ANGELES -- With the 30th pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, the New York Islanders select ... hey, wait, what the hell is 'E' from "Entourage" doing at the mic? And why didn't Turtle make the pick for the Rangers?
That was the scene at the end of the first round on Friday night, as celebrity Isles fan Kevin Connolly was given a chance to announce their final selection after hanging at the team's draft table during the first round.
Earlier, he joined Islanders team personnel, owner Charles Wang and his always-boisterous son onstage when the team selected Nino Niederreiter with the No. 5 pick.
We spoke with Connolly after that initial pick about why he was with the Islanders at the draft; whether he'll be the Vince Vaughn in their eventual (Isles fans are praying) Blackhawks-like resurgence as a franchise; and the subtle hockey references on "Entourage."

Alas, we didn't have the time nor the wherewithal to ask him about "hugging it out," Johnny Drama in "Viking Quest" or perhaps Connolly's greatest contribution on "Entourage": Being in a Ménage à trois with Emmanuelle Chriqui and Malin Akerman. Victory!
