Photo Expedition: What Game 3 looks like in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. – For the first time in franchise history, the San Jose Sharks are hosting a Stanley Cup Final game, as the action with the Pittsburgh Penguins shifts to the Shark Tank for Game 3 on Saturday night.

And for the first time in my career, I’m covering a Stanley Cup Final game at the Shark Tank, so let’s take a tour of the environs, shall we?

As you’ve no doubt heard, the San Jose Sharks are going with a ‘Sharknado’ theme for their Game 3 towels and shirts, featuring little tiny Penguins in the twister.

No word if the between periods entertainment will in fact be Tara Reid being eaten alive by a space shark and then giving birth inside of that space shark’s belly, because that actually happened in ‘Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No.’

Look, if nothing else, the San Jose Sharks’ journey to the Stanley Cup Final produced this amazing JAWS homage shirt.

Well, you work with what you got, right?

Although it looks like he could use a little man-scaping on that lower back. Yikes.

This man, trapped in a shark cage and surrounded by little sharks with the Sharks’ numbers on them, told me that this was his Halloween costume last year and “I figured I might as well get some more use out of it.”

I put some fun-sized Snickers in his bag.

I'm still not sure what the point of this campaign is. To shame the bandwagoners? To separate the "authentic" fans from the counterfeit ones?

The San Jose fire department had a Sharks Truck on site, and it was pretty awesome. Don’t know about you, but I’m getting the hell out of the way of that thing, lights and horns or not.

Balloon animal shark fins are basically the coin of the realm here. I asked the clown for a bicycle. He refused.

This Beards and Brews promotion was cool: Buy two beers and get one of these adorable emoji Sharks drink holders. Jumbo looking like Yukon Jack spilled milk on his chin.

Well-intentioned. Still a Foul.

This delightful Sharks fans was wearing a striking hat, with the team’s logo recreated with a rubber toy. She’s been a season-ticket holder since 1994.

She told me that her father made the hat. His one wish was to see the team play for the Stanley Cup. He passed away in 2009. She said she’s sure he’s watching.
