Penguins’ Evgeni Malkin smashes Sean Couturier and … Sidney Crosby? (VIDEO)

Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins was playing like a man possessed in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals … which may or may not always be a good thing.

After taking a roughing penalty in the first period that led to a Philadelphia Flyers' power-play goal, in the second Malkin took an interference penalty for this borderline hit on Sean Couturier, his series-long rookie tormentor:

Certainly interference and close to a head-shot there, but Couturier appeared to have put himself in a prone position before the collision, if there was contact with the head at all.

(Besides, we all know you can only be suspended for interference if you headhunt Claude Giroux on the same shift.)

But Malkin's best hit of the night was on … his own teammate. Ouch:

Bit of a scary scene considering his medical history, but Sidney Crosby was fine. And, we assume, Mike Milbury was happy.
