The eight time Grammy Award winning band Metallica are Bay Area residents and long time San Jose Sharks fans. They're often seen at games and taking part in the customary 'door opening' for the team that before each game
The Sharks honored the band in January 2015 with 'Metallica Night.' Before Game 4, the band had the opportunity to pay its forward on hockey's biggest stage.
Drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Robert Trujillo pumped up the crowd who awaited the team to emerge from the locker room.

They let the team out to take the ice and then the magic happened.
Lead singer and guitarist James Hetfield and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett took to the ice to perform the anthem. No words just guitars.
