Wide receiver Austin Pettis of the St. Louis Rams as more ink than a toner cartridge, and some of it is dedicated to his hometown of Anaheim, Calif.
He’s got a sliced orange. He’s got a palm tree. And as viewers of Monday Night Football discovered this week, he’s got what appears to be an old school Mighty Ducks of Anaheim logo on his neck.
He was born in 1989; “The Mighty Ducks” was released in 1993, the same year the team joined the NHL. So in theory, the Ducks were a major part of his childhood.
Or maybe he’s just like the rest of the hockey world and has a fond appreciation for a logo that was summarily mocked for years before we all realized how cool it was.
This potentially gives the St. Louis Rams an all-puckhead passing game, what with quarterback Sam Bradford being a big time Vancouver Canucks fan.
Oh, who are we kidding? As if Sam Bradford’s going to stay healthy enough to throw a pass …
