Line brawl sparked near end of KHL game (Video)

We’ve seen more chaotic line brawls, but few more peculiarly timed.

Dinamo Riga and Torpedo were late in the third period of a one-goal game when Riga’s Kaspars Saulietis crashed the Torpedo net and gave Vladamir Malevich a stiff cross-check. That sparked all 10 skaters tangling with each other behind the net, exchanging pleasantries.

Malevich and Saulietis were the only ones given fighting majors after the scuffle, at 57:38.

Scary moment in that brawl, however unintentional: Malevich appeared to step on the hand of his goalie, Mikhail Biryukov, who skated away shaking it. He stayed on the bench for an extra skater, but Riga held on, 2-1.

Can’t believe he didn’t go Full Tuukaa after that, like he did earlier this season.
