KHL player suffers concussion after fans drop him during celebration (Video)

The KHLs Barys Astana won their first ever playoff series last week after sweeping Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the opening round. They are currently waiting for their next opponent and probably would like a few more extra days of rest given an injury to one of their players.

Talgat Zhailauov is a 28-year old forward who posted 10 goals and 31 points in 52 games this season. He helped set up the winning goal in Barys' Game 4 2-1 conquest over Avtomobilist.

Upon the team's arrival back home, some fans greeted them at the airport and decided to do celebrate by tossing Zhailauov in the air. That wasn't a great idea.

According to reports, Zhailauov was taken to a hospital and suffered a concussion. No word on how much time he might miss.

Fortunately for Barys, they don't start their second round series until later this week, so hopefully Zhailauov is cleared to re-join his team.

Note to Barys fans should they advance to the conference final on the road: some simple cheering and handshakes will be just fine next time.
