How Jonathan Toews feels about Stanley Cup, pig nose mural

Earlier this week, the Hockey Mural To End All Hockey Murals entered our lives, as Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews(notes) was depicted (a) next to the Stanley Cup before ever winning one and (b) with a giant pig nose.

Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune caught up with Toews ahead of his team's game at the New Jersey Devils Friday night and asked him about the mural overlooking the Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago — which the star center hadn't seen yet, but had heard quite enough about:

"Everyone's talking about whether it's a good idea to have the Stanley Cup on there and everything," Toews said. "That's something that's outside of our locker room. We understand there's a lot of pressure in Chicago but we're not going to let a little thing like that bother us."

Regarding his swine-like makeover, Toews said:

"Maybe that's a compliment," Toews said with a chuckle. "I guess it's from a picture and they must have embellished it a little bit. They're not helping me by any means."

Poor guy. Chin up, Captain Marvel — everybody loves a happy face. And if that doesn't work, three words for your social life: Rent a limo.
