Jan Laco makes great stick save during KHL playoffs, adds to highlight reel (Video)

Jan Laco, he of the wonderful butt check from the Sochi Olympics, knows a thing or two about making great saves with his stick. Recall this one on Mats Trygg of Norway during last spring’s World Championships:

Now in his first season with Barys Astana of the KHL, Laco helped guide the team to the Gagarin Cup playoffs. Down 3-2 in their opening round series with Omsk on Sunday, the Slovakian netminder came up huge with this save on Anton Kuryanov during a 4-1 win to force a seventh game:

That wasn’t even the first highlight-reel save Laco has made in the series. Early in Game 3 — a 3-0 Barys win — he was caught mid-glide in his crease but recovered to make a nice kick-save:

Despite Laco's heroics, our highlight of this series is still Barys head coach Raimo Summainen.
