It’s in the game: Carey Price, P.K. Subban ‘triple low-five’ celebration in ‘NHL 16’
Back in 2013, Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien banned the “triple low-five” victory celebration between P.K. Subban and Carey Price.
Why?
“It’s a team concept,” he said, via the CBC. “You have to respect the game, the other team and the fans. The way we decided to celebrate this year is to salute the fans because they deserve it.”
Therrien is the Canadiens head coach. What he isn’t is a producer for EA Sports’ NHL 16, which comes out Tuesday and will include the celebration between the two stars.
By way of making the game as real as possible, this, along with the New York Islanders’ “YES YES YES” celebration will feature in this year’s edition, as well as 3-on-3 overtime, which was something producer Sean Ramjagsingh told me in July wasn’t planned to be available at launch.

Now if only we could get Alex Ovechkin jumping into the glass, Artem Anisimov’s machine gun and Nail Yakupov sliding halfway across the ice after a goal...
