Ben Bishop’s status for first round playoffs in question, say Lightning

Ben Bishop won’t play in the remaining three games for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Then they’ll reevaluate his injured wrist. And then they’ll pray.

"I guess I'm saying that it's not impossible that he would be playing in the first round at some point,” said Coach Jon Cooper via the Tampa Tribune.

“At some point” … hoo boy.

Bishop’s MRI this morning didn’t reveal any structural damage to his left wrist, which he landed on awkwardly on Tuesday night against the Maple Leafs:

The crease will be turned over to Anders Lindback, he of the .884 save percentage in 21 games, and Kristers Gudlevskis, he of the scaring the living crap out of Canada in the Olympics with Latvia. He’s yet to appear in an NHL game.

So yet another significant injury for the Tampa Bay Lightning to deal with.

"This is just another bump in the road. I didn't expect we would go through a cobblestone street this whole year,” said Cooper.
