The Stanley Cup will be in the house on Monday night, as the Chicago Blackhawks try to close out the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 of the Final at United Center.

But to be in the house, the Stanley Cup has to travel to the house. Which means just like all of us that fly, it has to go through airport security, and is sent through the same X-Ray machine that scans your toiletries to make sure you aren’t carrying an ounce of mouthwash more than allowed.

Keeper of the Cup Phil Pritchard tweeted this amazing image of the Holy Grail as it passed through airline security, as TSA ensures that there’s no contraband being smuggled inside the Stanley Cup. Which might be the greatest movie Jay Baruchel has yet to write…

(One assumes that’s the Conn Smythe Trophy right in front of it on the conveyor belt.)

What a cool image. We imagine it was directly followed by a TSA agent feeling the need to open the box, ask 50 questions about what it is and what it’s for, tell you all about their cousin who played hockey once, and all the while you’re about five minutes from missing your flight.

Which is why the Stanley Cup should always just opt for the pat down. It's used to having men's hands all over it anyway.

Wait a second … there’s something strange about this X-Ray.

Something we never noticed before …

X-Rays tell us so much.
