Alex Pietrangelo’s Game 2 status: Blues coach says watch the warmups

After being shoved from behind late in the second period of Game 1 by Dwight King of the Los Angeles Kings and missing the entire third period of a 3-1 loss, St. Louis Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo could be a go for Game 2 Monday night.

Pietrangelo took part in the Blues' morning skate on Monday and according to head coach Ken Hitchcock, if he participates in warmups he'll play.

From the Blues' website:

"Right now we're deciding. He feels good so far, so we'll see him make it through the rest of the day, but we're not going to put him in the warmup unless we're going to play him. If he's out there for the pregame skate tonight, he's definitely going to be a player."

Should Pietrangelo be scratched, it'll signal the return of Ian Cole to the Blues lineup after sitting the past 13 games. Hitchcock hinted on Sunday that going with seven defensemen (adding Kent Huskins) is also a possibility.
