Alex Galchenyuk’s girlfriend, Chanel Leszczynski, arrested after party fight: Report

Chanel Leszczynski, the 27-year-old girlfriend of Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Galchenyuk, was arrested on Sunday after a domestic incident at a party, police told La Presse.

According to the paper, Galchenyuk was having a party in his apartment at the Sherbrooke Street West following the Canadiens’ 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. Among the guests was teammate Devante Smith-Pelley.

Leszczynski eventually showed up to the party and for unknown reasons, there was a violent incident with Galchenyuk. Someone called the police, who arrived later.

Officers from the Police Service of the City of Montreal (SPVM) were dispatched to the scene. Reportedly, the officers questioned Mr. Galchenyuk and guests, as well as customers and building staff. Ms. Leszczynski was arrested after being identified as the instigator of the fight. While the Canadiens player has chosen not to file a complaint of domestic violence. Procedure requires the police to forward the case to prosecutors for review.
