Rex Ryan to introduce Donald Trump at rally, let the jokes begin

Rex Ryan, the famously outlandish coach of the Buffalo Bills who is loved by some and hated by many because he'll say just about anything without fear of repercussions, will introduce Donald Trump at a rally Monday night in Buffalo.

Yep.

Ryan said he wasn't necessarily endorsing Trump, the controversial Republican candidate. He was just introducing him at a rally.

"I'm going to introduce him, that's a true statement," Ryan said at a press conference, according to Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News. "But I'm not going to say who my endorsement is and all that stuff. I will say this, (New Jersey governor) Chris Christie was my guy one hundred percent because we were the lap band of brothers. We both had that lap band and we are really pretty close."

The team put out a statement to ESPN's Mike Rodak that Ryan was not representing the Bills at the rally, but would be there on his own.

Don't forget, Trump made it clear he wanted to buy the Bills after Ralph Wilson's death. Terry Pegula and his family ended up buying the team during the 2014 NFL season. Trump was also a team owner in the old USFL. Though Trump has some ties to football, he doesn't have any obvious ones to Ryan, aside from some shared personality traits.

How did this end up happening, if Ryan isn't endorsing Trump? Ryan is one of the biggest personalities in Buffalo, so it seems logical that Trump would ask Ryan to get his rally started. The team backed away right away from the whole thing, and it might not be the best idea as the leader of 53 men in a locker room to take a political stance that might alienate some of them, but Ryan hasn't shied away from much in his life.

So Ryan will introduce Trump at his rally in Buffalo.

"Yeah, it should be interesting," Ryan said, according to the Buffalo News.
