Rex Ryan on pulling Mark Sanchez: ‘I needed to make a change’ (VIDEO)

Mark Sanchez threw three interceptions in five possessions during the New York Jets' improbable win over the Arizona Cardinals. Jets coach Rex Ryan pulled Sanchez from the game, and Greg McElroy came in and threw the game's only touchdown.

ESPN's Jane McManus reported that after the game, Ryan sought out Sanchez to talk to him and even put his arm around the quarterback. Ryan then said to the media that he sensed it was just time to make a change.

"I thought at that time I needed to make a change. That's why I made it. I'll always do what I think is in the best interest of our team and trying to find ways to win," Ryan said.

It didn't take long for questions to start on who will be the quarterback when the Jets head to Jacksonville next Sunday. Ryan said he'll let the media know when he is ready to tell them. He also said he has confidence in all three of the quarterbacks on New York's roster.

"I have confidence in Mark, I have confidence in Greg, I have confidence in, y'know Tim."

Tim Tebow, who usually serves as Sanchez's back-up, was inactive on Sunday because of a rib injury. The quarterback controversy that has been simmering in New York is finally at full boil. Depending on how quickly Tebow heals, the Jets could be deciding between three different quarterbacks to start against Jacksonville.
