Check out Jadeveon Clowney's reaction when told he'd be playing Week 1

The Houston Texans have been cautious with 2014 No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney and his return to the field following microfracture surgery in the offseason.

But head coach Bill O'Brien seemed to suggest that playing in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs was a strong possibility for Clowney, even though he hasn't seen preseason game action to this point and isn't likely to suit up against the New Orleans Saints this weekend.

"The knee is feeling decent,' O'Brien said, per the Houston Chronicle. "We'll keep inching him forward to get him ready to play in the first game."

Asked later about what O'Brien said, Clowney's reaction was pretty funny. (Check out the start of the video above.) He added:

"I've put in the work," Clowney said about rehabbing his knee, "so I knew it was going to pay off."

There's been speculation that O'Brien and the coaching staff will start Clowney off, whenever he's cleared, with a lighter role — perhaps only playing in running or passing situations, or maybe being held to a snap count of some sort.

Asked about that, Clowney said:

"I'm think I'm going to be ready for all situations."

Except, of course, the news that his coach thinks he'll be ready for the opener. That one Clowney didn't appear to be ready for — or maybe he was just having a little fun with the media.
