Cam Newton lampooned in Charlotte Observer cartoon

Few people outside of New York Giants fans were happy with Cam Newton's three-interception game. The Carolina Panthers quarterback was ripped by teammate Steve Smith for pouting, and now has been lampooned in a Charlotte Observer cartoon.

With a slightly different take on Newton's "Superman" celebration move, the Observer replaces it with Hello Kitty. Now, let's get one thing straight. Hello Kitty is an excellent receiver with good hands and deceptive speed. Also, as Panthers blog "Cat Scratch Fever" points out, the skin color of the cartoon is not the same color as Newton.

It's been a rough week for the second-year quarterback. After Newton lost and then pouted his way through a press conference, rumors surfaced that he was going to see a mind coach. He denied the reports, saying all he was focused on was the upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons.
