Buccaneers will debut their new reflective uniforms with glowing numbers

(Buccaneers.com)

Night games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from now on should be quite a trippy experience.

Tampa Bay has new uniforms this season, and well, maybe you like them. They're something, anyway. One of the unique aspects of these jerseys is that the numbers will reflect and glow under stadium lights, according to Buccaneers.com.

How very Oregon of them.

The new uniforms will debut on Friday night at Jacksonville in Tampa Bay's preseason opener. On the photo above, the Gerald McCoy jersey on the right is what the jersey looks like under flash photography, according to Buccaneers.com, and presumably what it will look like under the stadium lights.

"Among those innovations is a reflective chrome border around the numbers on the front, back and shoulders," the Buccaneers.com story explained. "This revolutionary feature, never before incorporated into an NFL uniform, employs a reflective coating to add a unique glow to the numbers under the lights."

Definitely not for the traditionalists among us.

But hey, whatever works. It will add some interest to the Jaguars-Buccaneers preseason tilt. And it'll be much easier to follow your favorite Buccaneers player wherever he goes on the field.
