Brewers Association sends Peyton Manning craft beers

It's telling that one of the most significant moments in Sunday's Super Bowl was Peyton Manning's repeated postgame declaration that he planned to "drink a lot of Budweiser," a line that raised a few eyebrows.

The Brewers Association out of Colorado would rather Manning raise a few glasses of anything other than Budweiser, and told him so in a letter that NFL Network's Ian Rapoport posted on Twitter:

"We wanted to share some craft beers from the over 4,000 small and independent craft brewers in Colorado and beyond," wrote Julia Herz, Craft Beer Program Director of the Brewers' Association. "We've included a variety of choices which may satisfy the celebratory occasion more than a light American lager." Oh! Shots fired! The letter invites Peyton to visit his "local craft brewery," which sounds a heck of a lot more exciting than Disneyland.

Of course, craft brewers are probably still salty about Budweiser's determinedly anti-craft-beer stance, as embodied in last year's Super Bowl ad:

It's not the only Colorado alcohol institution to get on board the Broncos locomotive. Here's a special from a Denver bar:

Bottom line: drinking beer isn't like the Super Bowl. Here, no matter which side you choose, everyone win.
