Brett Favre and Michael Vick get their Madden ratings

I just downloaded the latest roster update for Madden '10 on the Xbox 360, containing both Brett Favre(notes) and Michael Vick(notes). Some might be surprised at how low they're rated.

Favre is an 82 overall. Vick's a 73.

Favre's 82 places him at the top of the Vikings depth chart, with Sage Rosenfels(notes) and Tarvaris Jackson(notes) both netting ratings of 69.

Vick, meanwhile, is defaulted to the third position on the Eagles depth chart, even though his rating is higher than that of Kevin Kolb(notes). Kolb's a 68.

Vick's speed is 90, though, which makes him the fastest quarterback in the game, three points ahead of Pat White(notes). His agility is a 94, and his acceleration a 92, but then he takes a dip in the awareness category, all the way down to 65. His throwing power is 93, his short accuracy 70, medium accuracy 64, and deep accuracy 69. He does throw well on the run, with a 95 rating.

If you're thinking about moving to receiver, his catch rating is a 70, but his route running is bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.

Favre, meanwhile, has the same 93 throwing power as Vick, but his accuracy grades out a little better (not by a ton, though). Short, he's a 77, medium, a 79, and deep, he's an 81. I think his speed is a little high at 60.

The only other thing I'd have liked for the EA people to include in the update is a new "Bernard Pollard Mode," where you can take a safety and repeatedly try to injure a quarterback.
