Ohio State held its third annual “Student Appreciation Practice” on Saturday and more than 2,500 students came out to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center for an indoor practice.

According to a release, students were included in the team’s stretching and sprints to open the practice and some students were allowed to challenge several Buckeye players in 45-yard dashes (yes, 45 yards). A few students even tested their leg on field goal attempts with the special teams unit. Nicki Meyer, head coach Urban Meyer’s daughter, was one of these students.

When Meyer attempted her kick, Ohio State mascot Brutus Buckeye tried to spoil the fun by running through the line and leaping for a block, but he missed.

Apparently trying to block the kick was some sort of revenge attempt by Brutus for the brutal hit he took from linebacker David Perkins during spring practice last season.

If you don’t remember that hit, it’s definitely worth revisiting:

Maybe next year, Brutus. Maybe next year.
