The SEC announced Monday that its 14 member schools will hold Prostate Cancer Awareness games to honor former commissioner Mike Slive and help raise awareness of prostate cancer prevention.

Slive originally was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the late 1990s and, after successful treatment, was forced to fight it again in 2014. The recurrence of the disease caused Slive to announce his resignation as SEC commissioner after 13 years at that post.

"The Athletics Directors saw this as an opportunity to recognize Mike Slive in a meaningful way while also bringing attention to an important topic that affects one in seven men in America during a lifetime," SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said in a statement. "While honoring our former commissioner for his great service to the SEC, we can also raise awareness and influence prevention of this disease."

Each team will wear special helmet stickers and some teams will hold other activities surround their awareness game, including “video board announcements, prostate cancer screenings, recognition of prostate cancer survivors, game program ads and stories, production of public service announcements and social media outreach.”

Slive is planning to attend several Prostate Cancer Awareness Games during the month of September.

Here’s the complete list of the SEC Prostate Cancer Awareness Games:

Sept. 3: Western Kentucky at Vanderbilt

Sept. 5: UTEP at Arkansas; Southeast Missouri State at Missouri

Sept. 12: East Carolina at Florida; Middle Tennessee at Alabama; LSU at Mississippi State

Sept. 19: Nevada at Texas A&M; South Carolina at Georgia; Western Carolina at Tennessee; Auburn at LSU; Florida at Kentucky

Sept. 26: Mississippi State at Auburn; Vanderbilt at Ole Miss; Central Florida at South Carolina
