Oregon has an ornate display for Mariota's Heisman (Photo)

Don't feel bad if your eyes are immediately drawn to the display holding Marcus Mariota's Heisman Trophy rather than the trophy itself.

Oregon unveiled the elaborate display that the 2014 Heisman-winner's hardware will sit on within its football facilities on Tuesday.

From GoDucks.com:

The display was inspired by Mariota’s unforgettable Heisman acceptance speech, and engineered with the theme of the No. 8. Not only did Mariota wear No. 8 with the Ducks, but there are eight Hawaiiian islands – incorporated into the display as large black marble benches behind the trophy – and eight levels to the base on which the trophy sits.

Those levels represent Mariota’s parents and brother, his roots in the islands – illustrated with the help of a Polynesian tattoo artist – his youth football and Saint Louis School coaches, his teammates, coaches and fans at Oregon, and his collegiate home, Autzen Stadium.

Unsurprisingly, the diamond-shaped display was designed by Nike. It doesn't have a case and according to Oregon's site, was positioned inside a glass wall so that the trophy could be visible on gamedays when the football facility isn't open.

Mariota beat out Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon and Alabama WR Amari Cooper for the award. He became the first Hawaiian player to win the award and was the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
