NASCAR’s Clint Boyer celebrates national championship with Alabama-themed car

NASCAR driver Clint Boyer is showing his appreciation for the 2012 national championship by going with an Alabama theme for Sunday's Aaron's 499 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

Boyer, who drives the No. 15 car and currently sits in 12^th in the series points standings, will be wearing an Alabama-adorned fire suit and will top it off with a helmet with the likeness of legendary coach Bear Bryant painted on the back. His car also has Alabama decals and lists all of the Crimson Tide's national championship.

During Thursday's qualifying run, members of his pit crew were wearing houndstooth hats ala Bryant.

"Yeah, it was actually my idea about the (Paul Bryant) helmet," Bowyer said in a statement. "I always have icons on the back of my helmets. I've had them on my helmet all year long. Trying to think of something to do with Alabama, it was only fitting to have Bear Bryant on the back of it. So it's a pretty cool helmet that Nick Pastura painted for me. I just want to get down there and hopefully have the same success we've had over the past couple of years. Talladega is good to me, had a lot of fun there, and I can't think of anything bigger than to win in Talladega, Ala., with the Alabama car."
