Minnesota coach Jerry Kill to coach this week after suffering a seizure

Minnesota coach Jerry Kill was released from the hospital and is said to be in "excellent health" after suffering a seizure following Saturday's 21-13 loss to Northwestern.

Kill had just finished his postgame press conference and was in his private locker room at TCF Bank Stadium when the seizure occurred. Team medical staff attended to him immediately and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Kill stayed in the hospital overnight for observation.

"Coach Kill was discharged from the hospital this morning," team physician Dr. Pat Smith said in a statement. "He was evaluated yesterday and this morning and all tests confirm that he remains in excellent health. His only concern is his team and staff, and he is excited to resume his normal coaching duties as Minnesota prepares for Wisconsin this week. He plans to be back in the office tomorrow."

Despite suffering from seizures his entire coaching life, Kill has not missed much practice or games. Kill has long said he'll continue to coach until his condition — which is currently being treated — becomes life-threatening.

Good to hear coach Kill is OK and will be back on the field for practice this week. Our thoughts go out to him and his family.
