Mike Leach comments on fan caught pouring popcorn on his face during Washington State’s game

Last week’s 55-17 Stanford rout of Washington State was boring television (if you weren’t a Stanford fan) until one fan inadvertently livened it up.

ESPN cameras caught a lone fan lounging across a couple seats and dumping an entire bag of popcorn in his mouth.

It was by far the most entertaining part of the game.

Even Washington State coach Mike Leach thought the “Popcorn Guy” was impressed after watching the video on his phone.

“That guy’s awesome,” Leach said during his weekly press conference. “I kinda felt the same way at the end of that game.”

Leach went on to talk about the fan’s pouring technique and talked about his family’s love of throwing food into their mouths.

“It was pretty good,” he said. “My wife can do that thing where you throw it up and catch it in your mouth. I’m not very good at it. Her and my daughter occasionally have the contest where you throw M&Ms and field it with your mouth. They’re both pretty good at it, pretty skilled at it, but I think he could give either one of them a run for their money.”

Oh, Mike Leach, thanks for turning what could have been a negative press conference into one of the more entertaining of the week.
